Cancer starts when cells within the body begin to grow out of control. Cells in nearly any a part of the body can become cancer cells, and may then spread to other areas of the body. The prostate cancer begins when cells within the prostate start to grow out of control. The prostate gland is present only in males. It produces a number of the fluid that's a part of semen. The prostate is below the bladder (the hollow organ where urine is stored) and ahead of the rectum (the last a part of the intestines). Just behind the prostate are glands called seminal vesicles that make most of the fluid for semen. The urethra, which is that the tube that carries urine and semen out of the body through the penis, goes through the middle of the prostate. Prostate cancer is one among the foremost common sorts of cancer. Many prostate cancers grow slowly and are confined to the prostate, where they'll not cause serious harm. However, while some sorts of cancer grow slowly and should need minimal or maybe no treatment, other types are aggressive and may spread quickly. If the cancer  detected early — when it's still confined to the prostate — has the simplest chance for successful treatment.

Prostate cancer that's more advanced may cause signs and symptoms such as:

  • Trouble urinating
  • Decreased force within the stream of urine
  • Blood within the urine
  • Blood within the semen
  • Bone pain
  • Losing weight without trying
  • Erectile dysfunction

Diagnosis: As we know that an early diagnosis and detection can increase the chances of complete recovery within a relatively shorter span of time.

In case of Prostatic Cancer these below mentioned diagnosis are done

-Prostate-specific antigen (PSA test)- this is done to primarily screen prostate cancer by measuring the amount of PSA in the blood.

- TRUs Biopsy (Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) guided biopsy)- In this test a small specimen is taken and is studied under microscope to find the causes

-Depending on each case, treatment options for men with prostate cancer might include:

-Observation or Active Surveillance for Prostate Cancer.

-Surgery for Prostate Cancer.

-Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer.

-Cryotherapy for Prostate Cancer.

-Hormone Therapy for Prostate Cancer.

-Chemotherapy for Prostate Cancer.
