Overview

Infectious diseases is an area of medicine, commonly encountered by primary care physicians by improving patient care & clinical outcomes, through prevention of diseases, with timely, appropriate diagnostic and management of the diseases, which commonly include Gastro-Intestinal Infections, Skin infections, Urinary Tract Infections, Respiratory Tract Infections, Mosquito Bite Infections such as Dengue, Chikungunya, Malaria, Antibiotic Resistance and other diseases as well.

Most common problem in Family Medicine OPD is Fever. The Dept. is very careful in differentiating common viral fever, which do not require any investigations as compared to bacterial and other severe viral infections, which require investigations and medical management to control them.
