5 Common Health Problems in Children

  • Common Cold

A common cold is a viral infection that produces symptoms like nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, coughing and sore throat. The symptoms usually stay up to 2 weeks. 

After noticing such symptoms, it’s important to take your kid to a doctor. After evaluating your child’s condition, the doctor may recommend a treatment course. And if the doctor finds something worse than the ordinary common cold, he or she will prescribe you medications and treatment accordingly. 

  • Sore throat and cough

These problems are often seen when the season changes. Heavy voice, pain in the throat, discomfort and cough are common symptoms. With proper treatment, the problem can be resolved within a week. 

Sometimes the problem can persist for more days. This can be due to allergies tendencies of the child. Talk to your doctor. He or she will evaluate your child's condition and offer a treatment course. 

  • Infection

Children are prone to infections in the ears, skin, urinary tract & blood. 

Pain in the ear is often experienced by children. This can be due to cold or teeth growth that may exert pressure on the jaws. Some other reasons could also lead to this condition. Working with a doctor can help your child.

The child may also get skin infections while playing with other children or due to dust and soil exposure. Consult a doctor to get proper treatment.

Another common infection occurs in the urinary tract. It is caused by a bacterial attack in the urinary tract. Burning sensations in the urinary tract and stomach pain are common symptoms. You should talk to a doctor to get a treatment course for your child.

  • Constipation

Due to Changing lifestyles, increase in junk food and screen time. Babies now have difficulty passing motions which can be treated with dietary changes, increased liquid intake, increased fruit intake & decreased fat food / oily food / fried food / Creamy food. If not treated then visit your doctor for assistance. 

  • Bronchiolitis

It is a respiratory condition that mainly affects infants and can sometimes also make children sick. The condition causes tenderness and swelling and mucus buildup in the small airways of the lungs which may lead to breathing difficulties. 

Its symptoms include a runny and stuffy nose, cough, and sometimes slight fever. Sometimes people confuse these symptoms with asthma. So, it’s better to seek medical help and give your child proper care.
